9 Salt Lake coffee roasters you should know about
If you don’t normally equate coffee with Salt Lake, well, you better get on board.
With an array of unique and charming coffee shops to sample from around Utah, the Beehive State is also home to coffee roasters that supply many of these shops with fresh roasted beans. Here’s a look at 9 local coffee roasters located around the Wasatch Front.
1. La Barba
Formerly known as Charming Beard, La Barba Coffee began with co-founder Levi Rogers roasting coffee on a barbecue grill in his backyard.

2. Millcreek Coffee Roasters
Millcreek is a family owned and operated roaster, and with names like “Broadway Blend” and “Oquirrh Blend”, this local roaster started out in the heart of Salt Lake City. They sell fresh roasted coffee both wholesale and retail, and operates a coffee shop on Main Street downtown.

3. Publik. Coffee Roasters
These guys aren’t messing around. “Quality over quantity” is one of Publik’s tag lines, and one look at their Facebook page will tell you they appreciate the science and art behind roasting coffee.

4. Jack Mormon Coffee Co.

Walk in to the coffee shop in the Avenues district, and you’re instantly greeted with the scent of fresh roasted coffee. They roast it by the pound daily, and will grind it for you too.

5. Salt Lake Roasting Co.
Though the scenery around the building has changed, The Salt Lake Roasting Company has long been a landmark for students and hipsters downtown. They’ll even sell you green, unroasted coffee beans if you want to roast it yourself.

6. Blue Copper Roasters

A newcomer to the Salt Lake coffee roasting scene, Blue Copper was founded in 2013 in the downtown area. You can purchase Blue Copper coffee at a few local shops, including Nobrow Coffee Werks, Liberty Heights Fresh, Vive Juicery, 3 Cups, or even wholesale by appointment.
