2. You can pan for gold
Prospectors struck it rich when the west was young, so can you still find gold in them thar hills? You can pan for gold in the little creek behind The Treasure House.
3. You can ride a pony
All you city slickers can giddy on up and ride one of the ponies on the hand-made carousel.
4. You can hop a train
Trains helped bring the west and east together, and This Is The Place has four trains you can ride. See the Village, and view the Salt Lake valley from the open-car trains. There’s even a train that circles Settlers Pond.
5. You can see the Native American Village
Make an arrowhead necklace after watching the dancers in the new Tipi, which is the largest in the country. Climb the rock wall in the Native American Village, and learn more about Utah’s first settlers by visiting the Navajo Hogan.
6. You can watch a real blacksmith work
Watch the blacksmith at his forge, or make a leather craft with the saddle maker. You can even get a “shave” at the barber shop, or learn how to spin wool.
7. Then cool off at the splash pad
It’s called Irrigation Station for a reason!
8. Finish the day at Brigham’s Donuts
They’re made from a secret recipe that includes an ingredient brought over from Europe when immigrants sailed to America. If you have a sweet tooth, it’s a “little bit of sugary heaven”.
