Check this out: Watch 3 guys drumming on a large man [VIDEO]
SALT LAKE CITY ––– Now, this is something you don’t see every day.
A rather, ahem, portly man is seen standing shirtless against a white background. Then, three men in tuxedos just start slapping his belly and arms.
Actually, they’re percussionists, and the slaps are more like awesome drumming.
One of the drummers is Salt Lake resident Matt Nickle, and collaborated with his friend Mike Chidsey to create this video, called “Tummy Talk”. So far, it’s a hit on YouTube, with more than 285-thousand views.
“I’ve been friends with the big guy for a long time,” Nickle says about the man being willingly slapped for our entertainment. “I met him through one of the other drummers in the video that I have been friends with since we were 12. He would’ve volunteered because he is such an awesome guy, but we actually paid him for his acting services.”
The friends got together in 2009 to create their first video, “Livin’ in the 801”, which has also received views in the six-digit range. It’s certainly a collision of worlds for Nickle, who is also a percussionist in the Orchestra at Temple Square with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.
“Ever since I could pick up a pencil, or any other object resembling a drumstick, I was composing, but I guess I didnt officially start playing percussion til 7th grade,” Nickle recalls.
What’s next?
“We have some other ideas for follow up videos to “Tummy Talk” that are similar in nature,” Nickle says.
Can’t wait to see them.
