7 awesome music videos that were filmed in Utah
Utah has such a diverse and unique landscape, from the green mountains of the north to the red and orange sandstone in the south. Many music video producers also know this, and have chosen Utah as the base for their visuals.
1. “Stone Cold” – Demi Lovato
The video for “Stone Cold” was filmed in the snow-covered mountains east of Salt Lake City, according to All Access.
2. “This Is Your Life” – Brogan Kelby
Brogan Kelby was born and raised in Salt Lake, and wrote his first song at the age of 13. The music video for “This Is Your Life” was filmed in and around Salt Lake City, most notably around Trolley Square.
3. “On Top Of The World” – Imagine Dragons
Provo’s own Imagine Dragons filmed the video for “On Top Of The World” around their hometown, which includes cameos from the cast of Studio C, Robert Connelly from Fictionist, and lead singer Dan Reynold’s wife.
4. “Alive” – Empire Of The Sun
Australian duo Empire of the Sun filmed parts of “Alive” in Bryce Canyon National Park.
5. “I Am Gold” – Alex Boye
Alex Boye– who sings “I Am Gold” in a unique sounding Africanized Dubstep, filmed the video in Kanab.
6. “Dreamin’: A BYU Football Tribute” – James The Mormon
The rap tribute to Taysom Hill of the BYU Cougars features scenes from LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo.
7. “Footloose” – Kenny Loggins
It’s no secret that many parts of the 1984 film Footloose were filmed in Utah. In the movie you can see Payson High School, land marks in American Fork and Lehi, as well as the Geneva Steel Mill and Provo.
