Utah Jazz to host youth basketball clinics this summer
The Utah Jazz will host two basketball clinics July 6 and 7 as part of the team’s 2016 Utah Jazz Summer League activities. The clinics will be held at different locations in Salt Lake County, using the outdoor community basketball courts built in collaboration between the Utah Jazz, Larry H. Miller Charities and the host city.
The July 6 clinic will feature former Utah Jazz forward Tom Chambers, Junior Jazz staff and 50 youth. The attendees will learn fundamental basketball drills, including shooting, passing and dribbling.
Chambers played two seasons for the Utah Jazz from 1993-95. He played in the 1,000th game of his career during the 1993-94 season and became the 20th player in NBA history to score 20,000 points the following season. The Ogden, Utah, native played 16 years in the NBA, as well as one season internationally after a collegiate career at the University of Utah.
