Real Monarchs 2015 Season Schedule Utah

The 2015 Real Monarchs SLC inaugural season schedule was revealed in full Monday, with the USL PRO club kicking off on Sunday, March 22 at “Los Dos,” LA Galaxy II and continuing on the road March 29 at Portland prior to the Rio Tinto Stadium home opener on Wednesday, April 8, at 7:00 p.m. MT against Timbers FC 2. The entire 2015 USL PRO schedule can be viewed here.

That April 8 inaugural home game is the first of 14 regular-season matches in the club’s first-ever season, with each of the 11 fellow Western Conference opponents visiting Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy between April 8 and September 12. Portland Timbers FC 2, the Colorado Springs Switchbacks and the 2014 Champion Sacramento Republic FC each visit Utah on two occasions, while the Monarchs enjoy dual visits to Colorado Springs, Sacramento and Phoenix-based Arizona United. “We are committed to providing another asset to our great State of Utah and the InterMountain region, one which will provide career, sporting and entertainment value to all those who wish to work, play and live here,” said RSL Owner Dell Loy Hansen. “The collective presence of the Monarchs and USL PRO on the Utah sports scene deepens our sport’s roots in the community, strengthen the infrastructure supporting our elite MLS team, and marks the latest of many initiatives for soccer in Utah.”

Monarchs season tickets remain on sale for the 2015 season, which start at just $112 for lower bowl seating and allow extraordinary access to Rio Tinto Stadium, home of Major League Soccer’s Real Salt Lake, the Monarchs’ parent club.

RSL Owner Dell Loy Hansen has formed the Monarchs as an elite lower-division professional squad which bridges the gap between Real Salt Lake and the club’s highly-lauded academy at the Grande Sports complex in Arizona, which has produced a perennial pipeline of NCAA Division I players, young professionals and has consistently competed for numerous national championships at the U-18 and U-16 levels in recent years.

“We have a bunch of talent in the pipeline at the Arizona academy, and we’d love to start signing a few more of these kids that need professional seasoning before we add them to the first-team roster,” said Monarchs Head Coach Freddy Juarez. “We have some homegrown kids that are in college right now to whom we’ve begun offering contracts; we expect them to provide a very good nucleus for the USL PRO team.”
