GOBLIN VALLEY STATE PARK, Utah — Three men could be facing charges, after toppling over an ancient rock formation in Utah’s Goblin Valley.
A video posted by the Salt Lake Tribune shows the men, identified as Glenn Taylor, Dylan Taylor and Dave Hall, pushing over a unique rock formation at the park, while claiming they were performing a “civic service”.
“Some little kid was about ready to walk down here and die and Glenn saved his life by getting the boulder out of the way,” one of the men said in the video. “So it’s all about saving lives here at Goblin Valley.”
Park officials say a criminal investigation is being conducted.
“This is highly, highly inappropriate,” spokesman Eugene Swalberg tells the Tribune. “This is not what you do at state parks. It’s disturbing and upsetting.”
Glenn Taylor said he was glad they knocked over the rock for safety reasons, but also wished they wouldn’t have done it.
