Super Bowl 49 is the highest rated SB in history and it was about the greatest show on real turf (unless you’re a Seahawks player, coach or part of the “12”).
While Patriots DB Malcolm Butler’s headed to DisneyWorld for his Super Bowl winning interception, Seahawks Head Coach Pete Carrol and OC Darrell Bevell will have to answer for not feeding their Beast Mode on 2nd and 1 for the game-winning touchdown.
Tom Brady’s 4th quarter (13-15, 128 yards, 2 TDs, no picks 139.9 QB rating vs best defense on earth) heroics earning him a 3rd SB MVP and a spot at the head of the “all-time best QB” conversation.
Of course, this story is mostly about our locals contribution to the greatest, most-watched SB of our time.
Siliga’s the first West Jordan native, Pride of Copper Hills High School to win a Super Bowl. Sealver, the former #Utes Co-Capt. Helped stuff Seattle’s “Beast Mode” Marshawn Lynch (24 carries, 102 yards, 1 TD) (most of the game) with 4 tackles, 2 solo, and Sealver was the first Patriot to lay on Butler after his game-saving pick preventing Seahawks from creating a fumble.
What a blessing today was! Seattle was a great team! Couldn’t have had a better group of men to go to war with! Thank you lord! #patsriseup!

American Fork now has a Super Bowl Winner! Jordan Devey started early in the season in New England, inactive last night but on the roster and on the field and “on high” after the celebration. Jordan’s twitter feed sent this out
Surreal moment and a little star struck speaking with this guy! What a stud!! #markymark… http://t.co/lYdesUeTbZ

Those are your true, local Super Bowl Champions!
We’ve also been following Seattle’s former Utah State Aggie locals Bobby Wagner and Robert Turbin.
Wagner @bwagz54 dealing with post-Super Bowl heartbreak:
Speechless.. But we’ll bounce back. Congrats to @bbrowner27
— Bobby Wagner (@Bwagz54) February 2, 2015
Wagner’s a star linebacker in the NFL. A huge force in Seattle’s backend “Legion of Boom”. A California kid who “grew up” as a football player under Gary Andersen’s tutiledge at Utah State. A 2nd round draft pick in the 2012 draft, Wagner was one of Seattle’s hero’s in Super Bowl 49. Led the team with 12 tackles (10 solo) and picked off Tom Brady leading to a Seattle touchdown and a 24-14 lead.
RB Robert Turbin had a productive Super Bowl. 2 carries for 22 yards including a 19 yard burst late in the 1st half that opened Russell Wilson’s amazing 80 yard, 29 second drive that tied the game 14-all at halftime! Turbin’s an Oakland native (same as Beast Mode) and was a 4th round draft pick out of USU in the 2012 NFL draft.
Congrats to those 4 guys with local connections who contributed to their Super Bowl teams. Extra kudos to the true native Utahns Sealver Siliga (West Jordan) and Jordan Devey (American Fork). First Super Bowl Champions from their towns.
