Summer is quickly coming to a close, and cooler weather will soon be creeping up on us.
As you turn the calendar page to August, it’s hard not to spend the days thinking about September and the end of Summer, which is just one small flip away. However, there is no reason that your glass should be half empty, because there is still a month of Summer magic left.
You may not realize it, but there are experiences happening around you every day that can help end your Summer brilliantly. Here are ten experiences, chosen for their variety, that should help just about everyone end their summer with a bang.
1. The Book of Mormon
If you enjoy singing, dancing, laughing, and larger than life performances – get ready to put your hands together when Broadway’s The Book of Mormon comes to Capitol Theatre July 28 – August 9. What better way to end the summer than with a side-splitting, unforgettable performance? This Tony Award-Winning Best Musical from the creators of South Park will have you leaving the theatre laughing and humming for days.
2. Frozen 5K + 10K
Summer is the season of races, and of goals to get out and run races. Summer is also hot, which means with every race comes the beating sun on hundreds of sweaty backs. So what if you love to run, want to meet your 5k goal, but hate the heat? Then the Frozen 5k + 10k is for you! Held at the Utah Olympic Oval August 1, this race offers a running experience at only 65 degrees.

6. Ogden Valley Balloon and Artist Festival
If you remember the whimsical feeling you got as a child as you let go of a handful of balloons and watched them sail away into the open sky – this will be a great event to end your summer with. At the Ogden Valley Balloon and Artist Festival going on August 14-16 you can come witness hot air balloons rise into the sky, or even ride in one yourself! This is the perfect opportunity to end your summer off the computer, and out seeing internet artists bring their craft to a live stage. 8. Supercar GP
What is your dream car? If you immediately answered Mercedes, Porsche, Ferrari, or anything else in the sports or super category, then we have an event coming your way that you can’t afford to miss. The Supercar Grand Prix. Come and see what the cars you love can really do as they tear up the racetrack at Miller Motorsports Park. This event will have you squealing with the tires, so race on over August 22 and 23!
9. Utah Renaissance Faire

Do you ever feel like you should have been born in a different time? Does the past fascinate you so much that you wish times machines were a reality?
