Utah has so much to offer! From the spectacular outdoors, to various cultural happenings, everything comes together to make Utah life so unique. Most Utah residents are fully aware of the attractions, sites, and landmarks that make their state so special, but it’s the events ripe for experiencing that help take Utah to a whole other level.

Free Cheap Events Salt Lake City Utah

There’s still a lot to do before it’s back-to-school time, so here are the top 8 family-friendly events to make some great memories around.

 

1. Timpanogos Music Festival

The Timpanogos Music Festival might be the biggest local music festival of the summer! With over 30 bands and solo artists, food trucks, rock climbing walls, a bike valet, live DJs, and tribal face painting, everyone who’s anyone is sure to be there.

Have you ever wanted a taste of the Islands without having to leave home? Well you can have that taste of Aloha Spirit and all it might cost is a half a tank of gas. The Utah Ukulele Festival brings the sounds of the islands to the base of the Rocky Mountains, with live music, ukulele lessons, and lots more Hawaiian type atmosphere to discover.

 

3. Snowbird Family Flicks

Did you know every Friday night; Snowbird Resort hosts Family Flicks for all ages to experience, right in the heart of their Center Plaza Deck? Everyone’s favorite throwback Disney live-action films like Cool Runnings, Field of Dreams, Hook, and Paddington are on full display. Come early to enjoy popcorn, cotton candy, frozen cheesecake, root beer floats, and even the popular bird feeder will be open.

 

4. Town Day Celebrations


If you’ve never been to a Utah town day celebration, now is your chance! From Peach Days to Swiss Says, each town day celebration is unique, and Bear Lake Raspberry Days is no different. This year’s Raspberry Days is boasting a parade, 5K, booths, music, rodeo, pancake breakfast, dancing, fireworks on the beach, and so much more.

Come out and experience what Bear Lake has to offer, but if you can’t make it, there’s still plenty of other town day celebrations to experience before you send your kids back to school. You can also check out Midvale Harvest Days and Spanish Fork Fiesta Days.

 

5. 2015 Tour of Utah


Already heralded as the most challenging tour in North America, the 2015 Tour of Utah spans from Logan to Park City and is filled with challenging climbs, daring downhills, and everything in-between. The Tour of Utah is one of only five UCI-sanctioned, pro cycling events in North America, so getting to see it live is as fun as it is unique! Each day of the race, kids will have the opportunity to race their bikes across the finish line, along with many other activities for all ages and cycling lovers to enjoy.

 

6. Springville World Folkfest

Springville may not have too much going on at all times, but when the Springville World Folkfest returns, it’s definitely a place to visit. From the Irish Jig to the Spanish Tango, there’s plenty of fun and entertainment, with live music and traditional dancing to experience all manners of cultures that make up this great state.

 

7. Cool Air Concert Series

Every Saturday night, this popular resort proves there’s more to it that just winter activities. There’s plenty of variety in the bands performing, and what a better backdrop to listen to their music than the beautiful outdoors high in the mountains? The Cool Air Concert Series wraps up their summer on August 8th, with a final concert to help wrap up another event on our list, the Tour of Utah.

 

8. Brigham Young Historic Park Concert Series

If you’re looking for a bit more secluded and intimate setting for an event, but don’t want to leave the confines of the city, Utah’s foot-stomping mountain music returns to Brigham Young Historic Park. Every Tuesday and Friday night in July and August, an awesome musical experience can be had right in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City. Next to City Creek shopping center and Temple Square, there’s plenty accommodations before and after the concerts, in case you can’t make it up to the mountains.
